This is a seminal series  that synthesizes all the things the tin art is for me – wordplay, fantasy, and making something out of repurposed materials. First off, I realized that there were all these sing song words for when things go awry. Helter Skelter, Mish Mash, Hodge Podge, Willy Nilly, Mumbo Jumbo, Topsy Turvy, etc.. Image wise, I start by disconnecting the colorful tin fragments from their ‘source’, so that contextual meaning is removed. I then connect one piece to another by a common color, shape or pattern. The result is random to a certain extent, and always wildly unpredictable fun for me. That’s it. No plan. See where it goes. Tin jazz, if you will.
